Singing Happy Birthday
Posted by: | CommentsOn the way to school this morning, Sam thought it would be nice to sing Happy Birthday to Evan. So Sam proceeds to sing a Happy Birthday and shouts ‘Happy Birthday Evan’ when he’s done. He really put his heart into it. Evan sat there for a few seconds, just taking it all in. He then said in the flattest tone possible, ‘Thank you guys’.
The contrast of Sam’s bravado to Evan’s monotone thank you was just too much for me. Both the boys looked at me as if saying, ‘Dad, it really wasn’t that funny’.
Happy Birthday Evan!
Posted by: | CommentsI cannot believe that just 3 years ago Evan came into our world. To celebrate this occasion I have to give credit where credit is deserved… to Holly. She continues to amaze me everyday with the patience and nurturing she give to our boys in situations that would make my head spin.

Sam and his birthday cake…
Posted by: | CommentsSam and his Bakugan cake for his 5th birthday. His sub-theme for his birthday was ‘Death by Chocolate’. Holly made him a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, this was after having pizza and chocolate milk. Needless to say, Sam made it just fine this afternoon without a nap.

A special birthday thought…
Posted by: | CommentsHolly and I were sitting down with Sam to say goodnight prayers with him. As we were taking turns, Holly said her prayers, "And God thank you for turning 38 years old, the last 7 years have been especially wonderful." I added, "38 years young and hotter than ever." Sam then added, "Wow Mom, you must really be sweating."
Holly and I just sat there laughing for at least 5 minutes straight.
