A first in my life…
By · CommentsIt’s March.
It’s been warm.
And I mowed my yard…
Now I know that isn’t earth shattering news, but looking back at the past 25+ years of doing yard work, I have never mowed a yard in March. I didn’t even mow the yard in March the couple of years I lived in Cedar Rapids. So now I’m going to do the next best thing to assure a snow storm within the next 2 weeks – take the snow blower off the lawn tractor so I can thatch and fertilize.
At the rate spring is coming, I’ll be watering by mid-April. Nice.
Happy Birthday Mom
By · CommentsI got what I think you’d really like for your birthday… two new pictures of the boys. Hope you enjoy your day and the weather cooperates for you.
Go to the Flickr page to get better copies of the pics – Sam / Evan.
Aging…
By · CommentsI swear tonight felt like Sam when from 7 to 17 with his attitude.
Evan had fun too…

Evan doing his best to show me he can act just as goofy as Sam and his friends.
Happy birthday Sam…

This is posted mostly for posterity for Sam to remember how wonderful the weather was for his 7th birthday.
Happy Birthday Sam!
Entertaining the kiddies…
By · Comments
This is one way to entertain a dozen 7y old boys for the afternoon. Having 70°F weather in mid-March doesn’t hurt either.

By · CommentsNews from Pulse conference last week…
By · CommentsMost of you know I went to Las Vegas last week to attend my yearly Maximo conference, called IBM Pulse. This year I was lucky to get selected to present again and this time I co-presented with my counterpart from Ford Motor Co, Howard Springston. Pam Denny, the IBM architect for Maximo reporting, did a nice write up on Pulse and included us in her post.

Getting ready for bed…
By · CommentsEvan: (screaming) Dad, Dad. I can’t see. I can’t get my shirt on. (bumps in to wall)
Me: (giggling) Those are your pants on your head.
The terror and then look of humiliation, in a span of 3 seconds, is what made this absolutely hilarious.
Holly is still gushing…
By · CommentsWe, ok Holly, finally got one of her top projects knocked out. The fire place upstairs got refinished. This picture doesn’t do justice to how spectacular it really turned out. No matter how much Photoshopping you do to a picture, bad light is bad light. Look for some better pictures later this weekend.
