Simple answers…

One of the gifts from Christmas that still has Sam’s attention is his Leapster. I don’t remember who gave it to him, but he still loves it. He loves it so much that it’s started to get him in trouble. If he happens to wake up a little early he will turn on his Leapster and play quietly in his room. While I think this is great because he’s staying quiet in his room and not disturbing me or Evan, it screws up his afternoon and makes him very irritable by dinner time. The other thing that’s happened is he is burning through batteries. To the point Holly got to wondering how much he was playing with his Leapster.

She asked, ‘Sam, how much are you playing with your Leapster?’

Sam looked up at her and in a tone that screamed Duh, he said ‘Well… a lot.’ And then looked back up at her like you should know this.

The teen years look to be very interesting.

Sam gets homework from pre-school where he has to find pictures of certain letters. Monday’s lesson is for words that begin with ‘K’. This is turning out to be tougher than Sam originally thought. He’s found a picture of a card, a computer, and a crayon. He sounds out what he sees in the picture, only to be shot down by the correct spelling.

He finally turned to me and said, ‘Dad, if the they wanted all these words to sound alike, why aren’t they spelled the same?’

Tonight I was playing with the boys downstairs and Sam wanted to build a fort.  So I helped him with the blanket and the pillows he had set up.  Sam was proud of what he built and said I needed to see the inside of his fort.  As I climbed in I said it was a very nice fort and very comfy.  Sam said, and I quote, “I built it to protect all of us from the sun’s harmful UV rays.”

Nice to know your son is looking out for you.

A good morning for Sam…

By admin · Comments (0)

Sam feels like he hit the jackpot today. On the drive over to daycare we usually listen to a playlist of Sam and Evan’s favorite songs. The songs come up totally random off the playlist… basically a no fuss music selection.

This morning the first three songs that played were literally Sam’s #1, #2, and #3 favorite songs. He was just beaming with happiness as we pulled into daycare.

He re-arranges the entertainment center because his wife wants to add pretty baskets. Now that’s love!
