Now on any given night, you could probably find me in the same position about an hour after I fall asleep. Holly blames me for my goofy sleeping habit genes and passing them on to Evan. She’s probably right. She also says I should apologize right now to Evan’s future bride for all the grief I’m going to cause in their lives. Now that may be pushing it.
New seating arrangements…
By · CommentsWe went out to eat tonight and we had a first time event occur. Sam and Evan wanted to sit next to each other more than they wanted to sit next to me or Holly. Holly and I sat there a little dumbfounded when we finally got everyone situated.
So how soon are they embarrassed to be seen with us in public?
King of the world…
By · CommentsThere is a street corner that I bike past during most of my rides. The corner has a fire hydrant and a bunch of wildflowers planted around the hydrant. Each time I ride past this corner, I say to myself that I have to get there before the flowers start to fade. Well I finally made it today and this was the prize winner of the bunch I took.
The bug (I don’t know kind, yet), literally came crawling over the backside of the flower and stopped to look up. I have more pics from the street corner here [Link].

Sam: Slowly trudges over to the door and begins to say, ‘Dad they’re not…’
Sam can’t complete his sentence because he tripped over the sandals he was looking for. The universe is already conspiring against him today.

Getting sneakier as they get older…
By · CommentsSam really didn’t want to take a bath tonight. Not sure why, but he made it clear that bath time wasn’t on his agenda for the evening. So after getting back from the grocery store he disappeared into his room for a little while. Holly started to collect things for bath time and called for Sam to let him know he was going to have a bath pretty soon. He comes out of his room and said it was too late for him to take a bath. Holly asked why and looks up to see Sam already in his PJ’s. Sam tried to reason with Holly that since he was already dressed for bed, he couldn’t take a bath, because then he’d have to get out of his PJ’s. Any why would anyone need to get out of there PJ’s before bedtime. Right?
The logic in his mind I’m sure was absolutely flawless until tested against the will of his mother. Seems I remember having similar experiences growing up too.
Getting a little better everyday…
