This meant I could hear birds, the crickets, and the police cars zooming by on the street behind us. And it was more than one!

I went outside to see what was going on and then saw two police cars go down the top of our street. Then I saw one more on the street behind us. Ten seconds later I see all three coming right in front of our house as they are chasing a guy on a four wheeler. Lights a blazing and sirens on full volume.

They all turned the corner and headed back towards Monks Ave and into the adjacent neighborhood. I could hear tires squealing and a couple bangs like cars hitting cars. The sounds continued to move away from our neighborhood.

I really wish I had my camera.

Lucy decided to finally stop running around with Tina and sat for bit, just taking in the new snowfall.

But with all the fun came a few consequences… like this.

Yep, that’s literally the exploded view of the gearbox to my snow blower.  The snow was the heaviest and wettest stuff I’ve seen in years.  So it will be off to C&S Supply bright and early Monday to see how much, and how long, it will be to get a new gearbox.

Hope everyone else fared a little better in the first snow of the year.

Holly and I appreciated all the prayers for a nice day, but they obviously got overridden by those praying for a little rain for the crops.

The latest sight if the day happened when I was walking out of the store. A guy nearly walked into three different groups of people. The reason… He was talking on his cell phone and a Bluetooth unit AT THE SAME TIME. Apparently he was important enough to have two phone, but not smart enough to get 3 way calling to work.

     (2) 2nd Gen 20GB iPods
     (1) 4th Gen 60GB iPod
     (1) 5th Gen 80GB iPod
     (1) 3rd Gen 1GB iPod Nano
     (1) 8GB iPhone

I’m guessing I need to take a look in the nooks and crannies of my desk a little more often.  On the plus side… I now can keep an iPod just about anywhere I regularly sit and not be without one.

As I was emptying my truck I overheard a younger couple emptying their trailer of remodeling debris. The husband was chit chatting with his wife when he suddenly shouted, "See what people throw away today, it’s a perfectly good toilet."  So I thought it was a funny joke to his wife.

The weird part was when he ACTUALLY went over a pile of junk, pulled the toilet down and started to take a closer look. I’m pretty sure he put it into his trailer once he was done unloading.

Sam and I went to the mall this afternoon. As we passed a few stores, Sam would always point out something in the display… look at the new shoes at Tradehome, smell the pretty flowers at Bath & Body Works, look at the pretty lady at Victoria’s Secret (ok… that was me, but you get the idea).  We then passed a Hallmark store and he said, ‘Look Daddy, it’s Mickey Mouse.’  I turned to expect to see some Disney/Pixar display for Wall-E, their new movie for the summer.

Nope. What do I see but a poster announcement for Christmas ornaments to be released on Jul 12. I know the economy has been hurting stores this year, but to even intimate Christmas 2008 in June is a little much. I guess that means we should start thinking about Sam’s 10th birthday, Evan’s first day of kindergarten and my 20th high school reunion. Uhhh… scratch the last one, that’s actually next summer.
