Drivers test…
Posted by: | CommentsSam has asked to ride his bike to school before the year ends. Last night we rode the route as a first ‘drivers test’. The ride went well, except for slowing down to look for traffic on a few roads. No idea where he picked that up.
Well tonight was finals test night. He was going to lead me all the way to school so we knew his pace to time so we knew how early he had to leave the house. The rule was if he didn’t slow down to look for cars when the sidewalk crossed a street, he didn’t get to go.
He didn’t make it out of the neighborhood. Blew right though the first cross street. On his second mistake he realized what he did. He was devastated. You know what he was mostly upset about? Disappointing us.
That deserved an extra 10 min on the playground and a gentle talk on the way home.
It’s summer, err… movie time!
Posted by: | CommentsWhile even I get a little sad seeing how fast the boys are growing (yes dear, I really do). But now we’re entering an exciting new phase with the boys – movie buddies. Now when all these action block busters come out I’m pretty much guaranteed at least one of the boys will want to go. Sam and I are going to the new Avengers movie on Saturday and we’re so excited to go.
But probably not as excited as Holly because now she doesn’t have to.
Evan had fun too…

Evan doing his best to show me he can act just as goofy as Sam and his friends.
Entertaining the kiddies…

This is one way to entertain a dozen 7y old boys for the afternoon. Having 70°F weather in mid-March doesn’t hurt either.
And to top it off…
Posted by: | CommentsEvan was going on and on about how fast he is. So I asked if he could clean really fast too. He said he was the fastest cleaner in the whole world.
So now Evan is showing me how fast he can clean the toy room. Sweet!
Shopping is exhausting…
Posted by: | CommentsSometimes shopping can just take the wind out of ya!
New holiday tradition…
Posted by: | CommentsThe new way to keep kids occupied while they wait for Christmas… Angry Birds.
Don’t tell Sam…
Posted by: | CommentsThis is Evan.
In Sam’s room.
Sitting on Sam’s bed.
Playing on Sam’s Leapster.
I’m going to let Evan work this one out.
Saturday afternoon at the library…
Posted by: | CommentsWhile Holly was running in the half marathon, I took the boys to the library for a Halloween event. Sam got picked for one of the demonstrations.
Maybe next year…
Posted by: | CommentsIf this kind of experiment doesn’t get Sam and Evan hooked on science, I’m not sure what will.
