Caught with his own words…
Posted by: | CommentsAt breakfast this morning, Sam and Evan were giggling and jabbering with each other. Somehow the conversation turned to who had the best cereal. Both Sam and Evan were convinced that they had the best cereal. As the comparisons continued, Sam made a fatal error in one of his points.
Sam to Evan: You know Evan, you’re supposed to try new things. Maybe if you tried my cereal you’d like it.
Evan to Sam: (incomprehensible because his mouth was full of cereal)
Me to Sam: Oh really. Does that apply to all meals?
Sam: (the look of ‘oh crap, what did I just say’ washed over his face)
Me to Sam: Great. I’ll remind you of this tonight at dinner. I’m sure Mom can make something new and yummy for dinner tonight.
I thought it was just perfect that Sam, the picky eater of the two, may have to eat his own words.
Bah-dum-bum.
Not a high point…
Posted by: | CommentsPleading with a 3y old that’s it’s ‘my turn to play’ video games with his brother is probably not a highlight in my parenting career.
The ‘other’ first day of school day pics…
Posted by: | CommentsHere are some of the other pictures I got from the first day of school pictures. Enjoy.
First day of school…
Posted by: | CommentsWhile last week was ‘technically’ the first day of school for Sam, today was Evan’s first day. So I took pictures of the two school boys this morning.
Update: I’ll post some of the pictures that didn’t turn out so well later this week.
Big brother’s help…

Sam is helping Evan learn to play Lego Star Wars on the PS3. This will be an interesting experiment.
Update: The whole ‘teach my little brother how to play video games’ turned into ‘little brother’ just watching and me giggling at their banter.
In touch with his inner farmer…
Posted by: | CommentsSam is trying to channel his inner farmer. Evan on the other hand just wanted to run.
Flawed execution…
Posted by: | CommentsAfter coming back from Okoboji, the boys thought it would be fun to sleep in the same bed again. We agreed that if the boys would fall asleep quickly, then they could sleep in the same bed together. This is the result.
They are asleep, but does this really qualify as a successful night?
