Quick shot from Iowa drive…
Posted by: | CommentsA landscape shot I captured on my way back to Mankato earlier this week from Britt. All the trees were frosted and the drive to and from Iowa that day was absolutely gorgeous.
Still my team…
Posted by: | CommentsHats off to the MN Vikings and the University of MN for giving the State of MN an outdoor football game. While the outcome of the game was not what a Vikings fan would have hoped for, the fun of watching an outside “home” game made up for it. So in honor of my team, I’m wearing my big Vikings jacket tomorrow.
Enough said…
Posted by: | CommentsWhy didn’t they have this…
Posted by: | CommentsReally??? My kids get to grow up with toy stores like this? This Dad is just a tad jealous.
A late bath night…
Posted by: | CommentsSam and Evan got a late start with their bath tonight. Why? Because Sam kept telling stories to Evan while they both sat on their respective potties. They must have spent 20 minutes just giggling and laughing while they sat there waiting to go.
Happy Birthday Holly…
Posted by: | CommentsSending birthday wishes to my wife, my best friend, and greatest mom in the world. You support, nurture, and help all of us with the patience of a saint. You continue to be the center of our world and we are thankful each day for all you do. We love you!!!
Signed, Your boys
Christmas 2010…
Posted by: | CommentsSam and I went out to get our Christmas cards ordered tonight. One of the twists we’ve recently had with our spunky 5y old is the occasional desire to be called Samuel, instead of Sam. So tonight as he ‘helped’ me get the cards ordered he asked that I put ‘Samuel’ on the card instead of Sam.
So this year’s card can be considered to be Sam’s Christmas card.
A little inspiration…
Posted by: | CommentsBeing a relatively new parent, I still get to be amazed and inspired by the new things our kids show each and everyday. Today Sam read a bedtime story to me. I don’t mean Sam just kind of retold a book he’s practically memorized, he read the words back to me. As he was just about to finish the book I looked at him with absolute amazement. He’s gone from barely speaking at 2y old to now being part of the advanced reading group in his class. Sam has no clue the challenges he’s already faced in his short 5 years – surgery less than 24h old, the hearing, and the speech.
Makes me wonder how often we chalk up life’s challenges to bad luck instead of the learning experience it should be?
Holly update…
Posted by: | CommentsJust a quick update on how Holly’s doing. The mobility in her fingers appears to be doing better. It comes and goes, depending on the activity she does the prior day. She plans on having an MRI on Monday. So we’re hoping we’ll hear something definitive from the scan.
I’ll post more mid-week.
