Construction update…
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s a quick update on our progress with the renovations in the backyard. As you can see we’re adding a penthouse to the existing swingset structure. I no longer get, ‘Hi Dad’ when I walk in the door. It’s now, ‘Are you going to finish tonight?’

Next stop, kindergarten…
Posted by: | CommentsThere was a small celebration to commemorate the last day of pre-school for Sam and his friends. Here’s some pics from the program the kids had and Sam getting his diploma.
Picture of Sam during the program. (The girl next to Sam is the one who chased him for most of the year.)
Sam and his teach, Miss Denise.
“That’s it, I’m done and outta here!”
One last picture for Mom and Dad.
A special thanks…
Posted by: | CommentsI want to give a special thanks to Sam and Evan this weekend. On Saturday they slept in until almost 7:00am. Today they extended their streak to just past 7:30am. Thank you very much guys!
Of course Holly’s dead certain they’ll be up at 5:45am next weekend when she’s off.

Summer finally returns…
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s mid May and the weather has finally turned the corner. The boys have been literally bouncing off the walls. They got so used to being outside for most of April, the cold and rain the last two weeks has been a bit of a downer. Outside home improvement projects start this weekend with building planter boxes for Holly, re-doing the landscaping in the front yard, planting the garden, and adding a tower section to the swingset.
Did I mention that I’m not bored anymore?
Brutal honesty…
Posted by: | CommentsEarlier this week I had just one of those days. The kind of day that sucks all your mental energy out of you and you just want to sit on the couch and do nothing. I knew that I did not have the mental capacity to read and tell stories that night, so I told Sam that when he was done with his bedtime snack I had a surprise for him. We all continued to chit chat a bit and Sam asked why was he getting a surprise. I said, “Because Daddy has very low mental energy tonight.” Sam looked at me for a second and said with a total straight face, “That’s not a surprise.” Not exactly the right context, but I’ll give him credit for still being on point.
Holly and I didn’t stop laughing for almost two minutes.
Happy Mother’s Day…
Posted by: | CommentsWe all want to thank moms everywhere. You are the person who fills the void in so many ways. You take care of us when we are sick, you tend to us when we are hurt, and you’re the first person we share our exciting news with as soon as we get home. Thank you for all you do each and every day. We love you!
