Meet my neighbor…
ByMeet my neighbor… he’s a douche. Now I don’t say this lightly because I try to be a good neighbor, you know the ‘Golden Rule’ and all. So why would I call someone from my very own neighborhood such a name? Here’s why.
This is my yard. It’s a rich, think, green grass… almost like a plush carpet for the outdoors. Mmmm…
And this… this is my neighbor’s yard. Not so plush and not so mmmm.
So begins the border battle. Last year my philosophy was precision killing by carefully cutting out the dandelions and placing weed killer over the exposed root. That worked pretty good, but this year it just isn’t working. So this year I will use the ‘better lawn care through modern chemistry’ approach. Me and the Lowe’s garden center manager are going to be on a first name basis by the 4th of July. I just know it.
Do you think there’s an ordinance against having Tru-Green spray his yard if I pay for it?

This is funny… I think this is a geek thing. I need my lawn to be that lush green carpet. I love it!
I have the same neighbour I think. Last year they bought the house and didn’t cut the lawn (weeds) in 2 months and so I had to do it with my weed whacker it was so high.
In our neck of the woods the chemicals are illegal and so I must either use the contraband (:)) or a weed puller. Every time I spray the fertalizer it goes about 10 feet into his yard to try and combat the weeds.
Go green grass go!

You have struck a nerve! People make fun of me because I love to keep my grass lush and green. Like the beautiful carpet you mentioned. I meticulously weed it and mow it. I even put in a sprinkler system myself to keep it watered because I can’t afford a pro to do it. Even still though the sprinkler ROCKS!
My neighbour is much the same as your is my friend. They moved in last year in July and still have not bought a mower. Last year I had to cut his field with my weed whacker!
Too funny – I think we are the minority in the geek community because in my experience the geeks I know are more like our neighbours.
I think his lawn is coming to eat mine and now I have to defend. Feels like a game of Risk!
Good luck buddy.

LOL… the email address I use to track comments thought my own blog was spam. So I “think” I’ve got this fixed now. I though I was winner in bad neighbor award, but you are a serious contender.
Thanks for the comments.
