Quick on the draw…
ByWe’ve been trying to get Evan to be a little more adventurous with his food selections. So last night when we were having cheeseburgers (and really, who doesn’t love a good cheeseburger), Evan didn’t want to try it at all. So as dinner was wrapping up, I pulled a small piece of burger off and asked if he wanted to eat it. Evan said no and covered his mouth. I went away for a bit and came back again with the small piece of burger. He again said no and started to cover his mouth. This time I tried to put the piece in his mouth. He got so anxious about the possibility of having to try some of the burger that in one fluid motion he grabbed a grape, threw it in his mouth, and then proceeded to look at me with glowing pride. He knew he had beaten me by putting something in his mouth.
To top it all off, he then sat there and smiled at me – gloating. At least he’s eating asparagus.
