It’s the easy things that end up being hard…
ByAs most of you know, Sam is head over heels for Scooby Doo. Case in point, his Halloween costume from this year: Flickr Pic. So to add to Sam's fascination with this hapless hound, Cartoon Network's sister station Boomerang has the original Scooby Doo cartoon on every night at 7pm (check your local listing for the correct time and channel). So one motivation factor we've had lately is whether or not he'll get to watch Scooby Doo. Well to make matters worse, the episodes that are starting to air right now are the musical episodes from late 1970 to early 1972 – yes I Googled the songs to figure out the actual titles and learned the dates by mistake. Now with Christmas around the corner and Sam wanting to listen to his own music in his room, I thought finding some of these songs on a CD would be a great present for him. So I started looking for a copy of the songs on CD or MP3.
My searching for these songs has led to the discovery of two amazing facts. One, that the songs in the Scooby Doo shows have been collected onto a single CD – Scooby Doo's Snack Tracks. All the fan favorites from the Scooby Doo show for one low price of $64.79 ($18.98 for CD + $45.81 for a 'sourcing fee'). That was amazing fact number two. It appears that this CD was released by the Cartoon Network for a limited time and has now become a bit of a collector's item.
I found one copy on e-Bay that had just started the bidding. I put in a max bid of $18.01 and as soon as hit enter I was notified that I was outbid and the current minimum bid was $43.02. I found a second disc and I'm fairing quite a bit better with the current bid price at $11.43. Sliding over to Amazon, I found the CD as well. To get the disc brand new was where I found the previously mentioned price of $64.79. The safest used price I could find was $26.47. So we'll see how the bidding goes over the weekend and make a choice on Monday.
Where's Apple and my iTunes store when I need them?
