Enjoying summer for once…
Posted by: | CommentsWell the Verly clan got to enjoy their first real summer weekend – no projects, no deadlines, no nothing. Just get up, enjoy the day, take a nap, repeat. Sam got a sprinkler to run through to replace the one we ‘lost’ in the move from Cardinal Dr.
I took the boys for a ride this afternoon and as the norm for southern Minnesota, it was a bit of breezy afternoon. I have a Burley trailer to carry the boys on the ride and let me tell you, a bike trailer and the ‘mild afternoon breeze’ we had turned their trailer into a giant drag chute. Nice to know I got twice the ride in just the same distance.
How I spent my summer vacation…
Posted by: | CommentsSorry for the long pause in posts, but Holly has been keeping me busy with projects around the house. Over the weekend we painted… and I mean we painted. We painted the hallway, vaulted ceiling family room, the kitchen, upstairs office, and 70% of the basement. Whew!
On the plus side, I can finally show off our finished kitchen and know that all I have to do for the rest of the summer is mow the yard, play with the kids, and go for long bike rides (and not necessarily in that order). Here’s some pics of the finished product.
Nice way to end a ride…
Posted by: | Comments I went for a short ride with the boys tonight and this was the result of my effort. These kids have all the fun. Also posted some new pics to flickr: MyGeekDaddy Flickr.
Under quarantine…
Posted by: | CommentsWe hit a new milestone in our parental path… Evan got pink eye. So far it’s been a mild case, compared to the eyes glued shut version. So far he’s been doing pretty good, except for the eye drops. What will be more interesting, at least for Holly, is trying to put the noon time drops all by herself.
We called our daycare provider about it and she confirmed that pink eye is going around. Who says kids don’t share.
Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother's Day
Sunday morning…
Posted by: | Comments Evan and I sat down and enjoyed the paper on Sunday together. Some of the pics I almost got made it look like he was actually reading the paper, albeit upside down.
