They covered the minutes but left the hour showing on his digital clock. At their house he was not allowed out until it showed a 7. It seemed to help; he knew he could look at books but not loud toys. On occasion I knew that mom changed the time to try and get a few extra winks in!! If he has his own room it might be worth a try.
