Is there a trade coming…
Posted by: | CommentsThe juiciest note that I’ve had today is a post from Kevin Siefert (formally a writer with the Star-Tribune):
GREEN BAY, Wis. — There is quite a scene here at the Green Bay Packers’ practice.
A huge crowd is on hand, having shown up thinking Brett Favre would be on the field. However, Favre has left Lambeau Field to continue meeting with team officials.
Fans are chanting, "We want Brett! We want Brett!"
One fan yelled to coach Mike McCarthy, "You’ve got nowhere to hide!"
Favre and general manager Ted Thompson are meeting now at Favre’s home. Favre told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols that the sides were discussing trade possibilities.
Stay tuned.

Pronunciation…
Posted by: | CommentsHolly and I were getting Evan ready for bed and Sam wanted to help make some more formula. So Sam diligently pulled up a stool and said, ‘I’m going to help make more forminilla.’ I know what he meant, it’s just that he pronounced it a little off. Sam and I finished up and went downstairs with an empty can of formula.
As we were playing I asked Sam if he could tell me what the empty can was. He came back and said, ‘Forminilla’. Ok. Let’s break this down and see if he can learn what it really is. I ask Sam to say each syllable out separately – "For" "Mu" "La". He repeats them with absolute clarity. I get him to say them again and he repeats "For" "Mu" "La". I then ask him to say them together slowly and it comes out as "Formula". Great!
I then point to the can and ask him what is it… "Forminilla" This goes on for about another 15-20 minutes!!! Everytime I can get him to say the syllables, slowly put them together, but when he needs to say what the word is at regular speed… poof a new word.
I felt like Phoebe trying to teach Joey how to speak French.
Using tech to keep up on your team…
Posted by: | CommentsWith football season just around the corner it’s easy to lose a new nugget of information that you can use to one up your uppity office mate. One of the great things about being the GeekDaddy is using some tricks
of the trade to keep me up to date on my favorite teams – Minnesota
Vikings! The biggest trick is to use an RSS reader (like Google Reader) on most of the popular sites – ESPN, CNNSI, FoxSports, etc. to get updates. This little wonder app essentially monitors several websites and tells me when an updated post occurs. The beauty of the app is that I see the same information at work, at home, and on my iPhone.
This way I’ll be the first to know the outcome of the Green Bay soap opera drama.
More house pics…

Support for Children’s Hospital…
Posted by: | CommentsJust a quick note to everyone. This Thursday (8/7), a portion of all Dairy Queen sales for blizzards will go to Children’s Hospitals. This hospital network has a special place in our hearts for all they did for Sam just after he was born. Please treat yourself on Thursday and do a little to help a very deserving organization.
1 year anniversary…
Posted by: | CommentsIt was a year ago today that I started this little project. And over this year all I have to say is, thanks Holly for putting up with late nights and too many ‘I’m almost done’ promises.
iPhone data tether…
Posted by: | CommentsThe entire earth wobbled just a little bit when millions of iPhone owners jumped up and down when they found out that they can now tether their iPhone to their laptop for a data connection. This practice allows a user to have an Internet connection through their iPhone. This was one of the last ‘it would nice to have’ features on the iPhone.
Just in time to play with over the weekend!
New driving law…
Posted by: | CommentsJust a quick note to all drivers going through the great state of Minnesota: Don’t text and drive, it could turn out to be an expensive message. Starting today (8/1), law enforcement can pull you over for texting while driving and issue you a ticket for $300.
BTW: I heard this on the radio while driving into work and waited until I got out of the car to send this post. Can’t say that’s how every post has been done, but it will from now on.
